What you want to do with the secondary display is called clamshell mode.
You need an external keyboard and mouse to achieve it.
1. Plug in and turn on external display
2. Close the lid of the computer, let it sleep
3. Wake it up using said external keyboard and mouse
4. Your external is now your main, and only display, running at it's native resolution.

As the graph is not of a parabolic function, what good would that do?
I suppose you could argue its piece-wise, but from a drawing it's difficult to argue the curvature isn't parabolic. The division lines depicting n have no context, so we have no idea what they mean.

macworld is more exciting for me but that's only because the websites fuel the excitement. With Christmas there is nothing that builds the hype for you.

There also should be more members with a sense of humor in this forum.
I find the picture funny, though I have to admit it was way funnier 10 months ago when it was posted all over the net including Gizmodo and Engadget IIRC. ;)

I will hopefully be getting a 2010 mac mini today (as seen in my other thread) and have been looking for ram. Newegg has it for about 107 but on a whim i checked out amazon and found some nice kingston ones, but they are no longer on sale.
Found these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NYISCC/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A1C0E2G2LZFK00 and was wondering how they would work in the mini. It says it works with my kind and it is a 10600 and what not, but I am not sure about all the extra stuff on it.

I wish someone would do a native OSX build of Putty. I'm pretty surprised it hasn't been done. Doesn't seem like it would even take much effort if you have the original linux or BSD source code as a starting point.

Check the SMART data on the drive and do a short test:

What is smart data and how do you check it?

Wow, that seems like it came directly out of Phone Booth with Colin Farrell. Just watched it last nite in fact! (great movie, very psychological)

Wouldn't it be easier to wrap the command in a bash script and do an rexec to execute it remotely?

I will try to avoid Macrumors and Engadget but it will be hard. I just can't wait!
Same! But the chances of me going to the darkside and checking before the video comes online is quite likely :p :D

That way it's like a lead-in for people who like similar music and want to know more about this particular band.

This is how I did it on my iBook about a year ago. However, you must be VERY careful with this method... it could screw up your system severely if not done correctly! For that reason, I recommend not doing this method if you're uncomfortable with the possible outcomes from the mistakes and waiting until someone posts an alternative way. However, if you ARE comfortable...
Open up the Terminal.
Type in the following:
cd /
sudo rm -rf "System Folder"
Exactly like that, quotes and everything. You will be prompted for a password after entering the last line.
This deletes everything, without question, from "System Folder" which is your Mac OS 9 folder. Making a slight mistake and entering rm -rf "System" will delete your entire OS X system folder! So once again, I advise being extremely careful with this method, and finding an alternative if you are uncomfortable with it.

Eh, I know where my towel is, and I have an electronic thumb, so I should be fine. I can't seem to find my copy of the Guide, though.

That is just a bunch of mac apps. The client I am doing this for does not even own a mac I don't think. If you look at this page they just want some like this where it says "sign up for news letter".

The thing is they are not great at using computers and they do not want to file all the emails that come in from that form. They want all the email address that come from that form to go to one database. That they can later send newsletters too. Same as that site. It is quite common, I see those on half the sites I go to....

For people that installed 4.3.3 on their iPhone 4s.....how is the upgrade? Is it better than 4.3.2? Does it help with animation stutter, lag and battery life?
I am contemplating whether to upgrade or not as the last two upgrades messed up my perfectly fine iP4 which was running like a champ on 4.2.X.

no. but if you want better 'sound quality' then use a higher quality compresion (192 kbps instead of 128 kbps it makes a difference and sounds MUCH better than the 96 kbps that some mp3 players compress at). with 40 GB or the new 60 GB photo iPod availble you should have plenty of room for a better compresion.
I always rip to the highest compression rate, or uncompressed.. My problem with the ipod was that at loud volumes it distorted. The problem is with the signal-to-noise ratio on the device..
I'll look into the JBL Creatures... But I think I'm going to have a hard time replacing my THX 2.1 Klipsch speakers. I'm going to see how good they look alongside my mac.. I dont know if you guys have heard these speakers before, but they are amazing!
Thanks for the suggestions.
